Discerning Hearts
In this life there are so many decisions to be made, and many of us become responsible for others, whether personally as parents and caregivers, or supervisors in our professional lives. Yet the one thing we need in each of these situations is discernment. As written in today’s devotional “Discernment is the ability to listen for God's guidance and wisdom when making decisions. As Christians, this is one of our most valuable tools—and one of our most important prayers should be, ‘Give me discernment, Lord.’” In all that we do for ourselves and with or for others, let us seek God’s guidance, for when we do, even in difficult situations, we can be at peace with ourselves.
Psalm 119:125 reads, “I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand your statutes.”
May we all desire to not only read and understand His will but seek wisdom to do His will in our everyday walk and lives.
Small Straws Scripture: Colossians 3:1-3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
When we accepted Christ, all that we are and all that we are associated with has been raised to a new level, for earthly things can never compare to what is now available to us from our Father on high.
Youversion Verse of the Day: John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
When we choose Christ, we are given new life, reborn and accepted as His own.
As believers, spiritually grounded, we are blessed with new opportunities and levels of knowledge and security that we can never receive from earthly living and being, my friend.
