Withdraw when you need without worrying
“Victory comes from you, O Lord. May you bless your people.” Psalm 3:8
Psalm 3:8 says, “Victory comes from you, O Lord. May you bless your people.” Today’s message, “A Higher Vantage Point” explains, “In times of war, army strategists benefit from high vantage points…. In the same way, our lives benefit from a higher viewpoint. When we rise above our circumstances and see life not from our own anxious, urgent, overwhelming perspective but from God's, life's battles become less intimidating as eternity's promises rise into view.“ Let’s work to avoid a straight-on view of situations as we encounter or go T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, Regrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) situations, but let us depend on our Father who has already gone BEfore us, knowing we’ve already won, for victory is found in Him. Lift up your eyes to the hills which cometh your strength and help.
John 15
Hold tight to the words spoken in John 15:5 and 7; “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
REflection from Addicted to Busy by Brady Boyd
Today’s message from Brady Boyd’s “Addicted to Busy” is called “The Jesus Rhythm”. Boyd shares, “We see Jesus withdrawing in order to work through tragic news, such as when he learns that his friend John the Baptist has died. He withdraws to gain insight on important decisions, such as which men to call to follow him. He withdraws so that he simply can pray. He withdraws to enjoy time with his closest companions. He withdraws as a means of teaching his disciples the unparalleled value of rest. He doesn’t wait until his mission is accomplished. He doesn’t wait until someone sanctions a few days off for him. He doesn’t’ even wait for an official “Sabbath” to dawn. When he senses it’s time to withdraw, he just goes.” Who are you and I not to withdraw and REst? We can do all things through Christ—not on our own. Pay attention to your inner rhythm, your Jesus rhythm. He speaks to us and moves within us. Don’t ignore the need to withdraw and pray for strength to go on.
