Life is already won so no need for worrying
“LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered—how fleeting my life is.” Psalm 39:4
The title of this morning’s devotional is “Brief and Fleeting”. Of course the title is referencing this life on earth, and the author poses the question: “Can you ask God to give you the capacity to stand back and know that life is too short to get so anxious?” Boy, did I need that right at this time in my life. The scripture associated, Psalm 39:4 says, “LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered—how fleeting my life is.” It goes on to say, “Don't get down about how fleeting this life is; it is here to be enjoyed and lived as fully as you can.” This is a reminder that we really should not spend our time worrying , for life is too short, yet full of so much for us to experience, embrace, and enJOY.
Reflection from Chosen: Remind Yourself of the Gospel by Matt Brown
Today we begin the series “Chosen: Remind Yourself of the Gospel” by Matt Brown. It starts off with the question, “What would happen if you woke up and reminded yourself of the Gospel every day?“ It then goes on to say, “If we remind ourselves of the Gospel each morning, we will wake up and live in grateful joy that the toughest battle we are going to face today has already been won.” See if we cannot remember every scripture on our own, one thing we know is that Jesus died so we might live. What does it mean to live? To do, to be, to have, and it goes on and one. With the Gospel, we remind ourselves that life has already been won for us, and it provides a reminder of what and so much more! Renew your spirit daily by feeding yourself with the best soul food and nourishment always available to you.
