Cherish friendships developed by the Father
The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
A question is posed this morning from the “Daily Strength for Women” devotional. We are asked, “What do you need right now?” The writer goes on to say, “Ask him for what you need -he cares about the small stuff and is more than ready to give you help.” It doesn’t matter what, God will provide. Do you need just five more minutes of sleep? Just ask. Do you need help with picking out that outfit? Just ask. Are you concerned about a task at hand? Just ask. Nothing is to small or too hard for God.
Ezra 4
As the children of captivity in Ezra 4:2, let us work together and build for Christ as we all seek Him.
REflection from Awesome: Building Great Relationships by Rick Warren
Today we BEgin “Awesome: Building Great Relationships” by Rick Warren. Today’s focus is “Authentic Friendships”. He says, “In Christian fellowship, people should experience authenticity.… Unfortunately, authenticity is the opposite of what you find in some churches. Instead of an atmosphere of honesty and humility, you encounter pretending, role-playing, superficial politeness, and shallow conversation.” He goes further to say, “Being authentic requires both courage and humility. It means facing our fear of exposure, rejection, or being hurt again… it’s the only way to grow spiritually and become emotionally healthy.” If you are not and cannot BE that comfortable with sharing with an individual(s) in that manner, they are not true friends; those are associates. True friends are hard to come by, therefore when you do find one, don’t take the individual for granted. Those are the individuals who help us with our faith walk here on earth.
