Let gentleness and kindness lead you this day

After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 1 King 19:12

This morning’s message, “Listening to God” informs us that “A surprising study on parenting styles revealed that one of the best ways to get the attention of a child is to whisper. When instructing an important lesson, imparting it in a whisper helps the child to focus, to remember, and to act upon the information.… Taking the child onto your lap or sitting closely and softly speaking causes both memory and comprehension to improve.“ This is also the method we should use when interacting with our Father. Let us listen for and to His gentle voice and Spirit upon us. His gentleness will always bring about a calmness and directional peace in our lives when we remember to be still and know that He is God.

Reflection from Winning the War in Your Mind

This morning’s message from “Winning the War in Your Mind” speaks about Paul and his intentions to get to Rome to preach the gospel. Yet when he arrived, unlike his plan, he was imprisoned and it looked as if he wouldn’t be able to do so. The message says this day, “You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control how you frame it: Reframe your mind, restore your perspective.” Paul knew that no matter the situation, God’s plan was better than his, and even though he was chained to guards, God’s plan would still allow Him to preach the Word, but to those who had interactions with those in higher power. My sisters and brothers, remember perspective is the key. Focus on God thoughts when things aren’t going as planned, and use the Word to cancel out the negativity and place the situation in His hands.

Luke 6:35-36

As the saying goes, keep your friends close and enemies closer. Love conquers all, especially when we are dealing with those who come against us. Kill them with love and kindness not evil for evil.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Let gentleness and kindness lead you this day, my friend.
