Let us learn, love, lift, and lead

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” Psalm 28:7

My heart fluttered when I REad the title of this morning’s devotional: “Take the Leap”. The last time I REad a similar title, I did just that and stepped out in faith, walking away from my marriage. The text says, “Most great things in life take some risk…. One thing all risk has in common is that it teaches us something. We never walk away unchanged. And while stepping out and taking the risk itself is scary, we discover our own bravery in it.… When the Lord asks you to step out, you know it will be a risk worth taking.” REflecting this morning, I’m grateful for the time I took to build my personal RElationship with the Father in order to BE able to take a bold step that was scary BEcause of the unknown and wondering what others would think, but now seeing all that He worked for my good by BEing bold and listening to my soul. May we REflect on today’s scripture as God continues to prepare us for what is to come. Psalm 28:7 says, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.”

REflection from Born to Lead by Deborah Smith Pegues

Today we BEgin “Born to Lead” by Deborah Smith Pegues. The message BEgins with a discussion about the people who survived the great flood of Noah’s time. Pegues says, “God ordered the survivors to scatter across the earth and repopulate. But they had different plans.” BEcause of disobedience the Lord confused their language and they had to abandon their efforts. Pegues says the lesson learned was “If you can’t communicate, you can’t build anything—a marriage, an organization, or a team.” She goes on to say, “Good leadership and good communication go hand in hand… and one of the most critical elements of being communicative is authenticity.” In all that we do, let us share with sincerity, engaging in a way that can BE REceived by others, even in difficult situations. Words have power and we must use them to love, lift, and lead in this world today.

Matthew 20:28
