Know your desires will BE fulfilled by the Father through His love
“Delight thyself also in the LORD; And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”Psalm 37:4 KJV
I knew the message this morning would speak to me if not to you, my friend, from the title alone: “Your Desires”. In the text the author BEgins, “It is hard to reconcile some of the promises in God’s Word with our disappointment with things that we have asked for but haven't yet received.” But we are encouraged, “Ask for a resilient mind so you can keep asking, knocking, and seeking in faith that you will find what you need. Put your trust in him, knowing that he cares for you and he will open the door to answer you when you knock.” Yes, we are human and need to feel what we need to feel in sadness, disappointment, and/or waiting, however, we can REcover quickly knowing we can REst assured in the Father, to give us the desires of our hearts in His perfect timing. He knows what’s BEst, so REst.
John 19
Let us Remember, as Jesus spoke in John 19:11, “Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above…”.
REflection from Addicted to Busy by Brady Boyd
The final message from “Addicted to Busy” speaks to “Peace”. Boyd talks about how Jesus made the Sabbath for us, instead of the other way around, establishing the spirit of peace, not of prohibition. He goes on to say, “God knew we’d need peace once a week, just as we need our own bed after being on the road for a week. He knew we’d need a soft place to land, a plumb line to re-center our souls. And so, the Sabbath—an invitation, a gift, a small taste on the tongue of peace.” Let us work throughout the week to do what we are called to do, but find REst, and more importantly, peace, in the sabbath which God especially created for you and me.
