Christ chose us, so let us choose ourselves each day
And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:16
We are safe “In His Arms”, as this morning’s devotional speaks to about our Father and His blessing over our live as His children, and our children’s lives. The message says, “There is no way for us to perfectly protect and provide for them alone. Only God has true power and authority over their lives, so we have to consecrate them to him and trust that he cares for them even more than we can.” May we give everything we have to Christ, knowing He is the ultimate protection of our most precious commodity—those He has blessed you and me to train up along this JOurneY.
REflecrion from Freedom and the Single Mom by Jennifer Maggio
Today’s devotional from “Freedom and the Single Mom” says, “You Are Not In Control”. We all struggle with control, especially when we have BEen hurt and mishandled; we work to try to protect ourselves. As the text says, “But our God wants an expansive, abundant life for us. He doesn't want us bound by a small, fenced-in life. His Son paid for freedom so that we may be set completely free from bondage, including the bondage of control and perfectionism. He wants us to live and walk in the freedom that is found only in Him.” Maggio goes on to give us three things that keep us from living freely: our mouth; our past; and our choice. Let us BE careful of the words we speak, focused on speaking life and not death over ourselves. We must let go of the past, working to walk into what we prayed for and what God has prepared for us, and always REmembering we have a choice in this life, and that is not to live in bondage but in abundance.
