Don’t shy from the success the Savior has for you
“Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him.” 1 Corinthians 7:17 ESV
God truly amazes me. Today’s message and scripture is the perfect summation of the conversations had with my god brother yesterday evening on into the night. The title of the message by Osteen today is “Called by God”, and he highlights the following scripture: “Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him/her and to which God has called him/her” (1 Corinthians 7:17). Osteen spoke about how when his father passed his brother Paul left his medical practice to help pastor the church. He goes on to say, “In the natural, it looked as though he were making a mistake, but as Abraham did, Paul (Osteen’s brother) went out not knowing how it was going to work. All he knew was the first step: ‘Go help your family’”.
I say, what doesn’t look right to (wo)man is a part of God’s plan. Similarly, I finally had the opportunity to tell my god brother about my JOurneY these past few years. I, too, spoke about walking into the unknown but knowing I had to take a bold step in faith. To others, and at times myself, it didn’t look like what I should do. However, like Osteen says in his message, if his brother Paul hadn’t stepped out into the unknown, he wouldn’t have reached the fullness of his potential. My god brother was proud to have the vice president of a college sitting in his presence, and I too, continue to sit in amazement each morning, REflecting on where I am and what God has worked for my good when I took my boldest step in faith.
Have you established your personal RElationship with the Father so that you hear Him speaking to you about your life? Like my brother said last night, He will speak to you—He doesn’t need anyone else to tell you His plans for your life. Take the time today to BE still, listen, and let Him lead you, for His plans are to prosper you and not to harm you.
Judges 8
As powerful as we may BEcome with positions in life, let us REmind others as Gideon did in Judges 8:23, we will not rule over others, nor will our sons/daughters, but the Lord will rule over all.
REflection from Promises for Your Everyday Life
Joyce Meyer’s message, “Visualize your Victory” made me look at both of my EGOcentric canvases on the walls in my bedroom. One I developed in March of 2020, and the other for 2021. Habakkuk 2:2-3 encourages us to write the vision and make it plan, but it is also important for us to BE able to see it as well, for Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Meyer encourages us today saying, “Don't live your life without the thrill of growing and changing or you'll miss out on the good things God can do through you. Take some time today to visualize the person you want to be and start pursuing God's freedom. Because one day at a time, you and God can do anything!“ All it takes is one step by you, and God will see you through. Walk without worry today into the best season of your life, one bold step at a time.
