BE confident in who you are, knowing Whose you are
“I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure. Psalm 16:8-9
How did you REst last night? Well today’s message REminds us that we can always “Rest Secure” in the Lord. The message says, “While there may be times when we ache to hide from him in our shame, he is a constant presence…. Let God be your refuge. Nothing is too big or too small for him. Even in your darkest hours, you can know true joy because he is your guardian.“ There’s nothing in this life that we have to own alone; He’s always there for us and to help us through. We only have to REst and turn things over and let Him do what He does BEst.
REflecrion from Born to Lead by Deborah Smith Pegues
In Luke 22:24-26 the Lord states, “In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people, yet they are called ‘friends of the people.’ But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant.” If we desire to lead and are chosen to lead, let us lead with a servant’s heart. Today’s message from Deborah Smith Pegues speaks of the benefits from doing so, which include when we do so, It’s Not About Just One Person— it’s about the whole in an organization. It improves the culture; promotes customer retention, and innovation, and keeps ego in check. As the great HBCU leader Michael Sorrell has coined “We over me”; that’s our focus when we walk and lead with Thee.
