Always keep your focus to work unto the Lord
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
This morning’s message starts off with scripture from Philippians 4:6 reminding us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” As the title of today’s devotional emphasizes, we can always run to our Father’s “Loving Arms”. The writer shares, “God wants to hold us in his care. To wrap his arms around us in love. To listen to the stresses and cares of the day. To wash away all of our worries and fears. To comfort us and give us hope.” Any time we need comfort and support, His arms are open wide and waiting to embrace us and keep us. Run to His safety; He’s always there for us.
Reflection from 5 Daily Habits to Integrate Faith and Work by Follower of One
Today we begin “5 Daily Habits to Integrate Faith and Work” by Follower of One. Of course Day 1 encourages us to pray. The message says, “Our first step is to pray. In 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18, there is an outline for how to pray. We are to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in everything.” It then goes on to say, “In our journey as workplace ministers or missionaries, there are three prayers that seem to be particularly relevant in our daily interactions with others.” These are “Here I Am”, “Thank You”, and “God’s Favor”. Let us always be willing and available to the Father to use us as He pleases. May we thank Him in advance to show gratitude for who He is and what He will do, and finally, speak of God’s favor. We may not be able to do everything, but we can do all things through Christ. Moreover, He can do all things but fail. Pray to Him to bless others in only the way He can.
