As you help others, how are you helping yourself in your life with Christ?
Burden Bearing
Some of us are the kind of people who others turn to for counsel and support. As noted in today’s message, “Caring for others, listening to them, and offering wise counsel is biblical. God created us to live in community, and we are instructed to bear one another's burdens.” However, we also have to know the importance of boundaries and not bearing and carrying others’ burdens when we also have enough to bear. In many instances we are reminded that the best advice we can give is for them to “tell it to Jesus.” We all have a direct line to the One who has answers and will listen and guide us every time.
Proverbs 27:9 reads, “The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense.”
True friendship is something we can delight in, it brings about an aura of love, joy, and comfort.
Small Straws Scripture: Ephesians 4:21-24
“If indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”
Our lives should evolve as we continue along our journey with Christ. We must let go of former ways and things, and seek opportunities of renewal and restoration of what we have neglected or forgotten, and look towards Him to continue to be more like Him.
Youversion Verse of the Day: Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
It doesn’t matter where we are in our lives, our Father is with us and upon us to give us life. We must be accepting of Him and witness about Him to others, spreading the Gospel and sharing testimonies to encourage others to accept Him in their lives.
As you help others, how are you helping yourself in your life with Christ, my friend? 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
