Cry if you need to for JOY is coming to you
“Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong;” Psalms 37:1 NIV
Today’s devotional “Not Envious” reminds us “Life is not fair and there are certainly many people who you could think of who are doing better than you in terms of their relative success…. Don't fall into the trap of comparing yourself with others; instead, thank God for the good things he has already provided you with.“ If you become stuck in a rut, take time to look back over your life to see what He’s done and how far you’ve come. Be thankful for what you have knowing that as in the past, a better day is coming—just hold on.
Reflection from The Are of Overcoming
The final message from “The Art of Overcoming” reminds us “Joy Gets the Last Laugh”. The author speaks about funerals saying, “Even in pain and sorrow, it is common to hear friends and family express joy.” He goes on to say, “When you are weeping in the night, it’s important to remember that morning is coming, and joy is on its way. Joy doesn’t remove your suffering or restore your loss, of course. On the outside nothing changes. But on the inside, everything changes.” Remember, the joy we have, the world didn’t give it to us. Our Father’s love, the joy of the Lord is our strength. Know, as written in Psalm 30:5 “Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” There will joy after the heartache and pain; the promise is in His word. Stay encouraged.
