The struggle is real, but the Savior is sovereign
I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. Romans 7:18
“The Spirit is Willing” is a powerful statement and message this morning. We are of flesh and can be weary, and as the writer says, “We don't like to acknowledge that sometimes we just don't have it in us to make the right choice.” It goes on to highlight Paul, saying, “Paul understood the internal conflict that we face in doing right. As new creations in Christ, we have in us the desire to do good; however, as part of a fallen world, we are inherently selfish.… We can dwell on our desire to do right, or on our desire to please ourselves.” May we be still, listen to the guidance of our Father, being slow to react of the flesh, but respond to how the spirit leads us.
Reflection from The Spirit is Willing by The American Bible Society
Today we begin “Casting Doubt Aside” provided by the American Bible Society. Day One’s message begins, “Waiting a long time for an answer to prayer or for something you’ve been working on to finally bear fruit can be quite challenging. These and other circumstances can sow seeds of doubt, causing us to wonder if God sees our trouble or if anything will work in our favor.” We are reminded of Isaiah 40:28-31, which serves as a reminder and encouragement to trust and know that God is with us and working on our behalf. Though we may feel in a valley low, we will soar again. Prepare to mount up, beginning with holding your head high and looking to the hills where our strength comes from.
Matthew 22:37-39
Let love, which is of the Lord, lead you and me with all we do for loved ones and enemies.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
