Free yourself to be your best self

“Here's what I've learned through it all:Leave all your cares and anxieties at the feet of the Lord, and measureless grace will strengthen you.” Psalm 55:22

Thanksgiving holiday is upon us and a new year is not far away. It is time for us to begin “Unburdening” ourselves and leave them with Christ. As the message says today, “Cares and anxieties are real, yet Jesus wants us to give them to him.” We cannot heal until we reveal. The writer goes on to remind us, “Well, Jesus is ready to hear everything —you don't have to hold back! Spend some time bringing your cares and anxieties to him today.”Release and let it go the burdens in your mind and heart that you carry. Free yourself to be your best self.

Reflection from The Cure for Burnout

“The Cure for Burnout” encourages us today to “Take mental vacations and diversions”. It is shared, “Your mind cannot tell the difference between what you are currently experiencing and what you have experienced and relived in your imagination. Periodically take 10 minutes and relive in your mind any relaxing experience you have had.” Another recommendation is diversion. The writer says, “Diversion is doing a different activity from what you are currently doing, but which you totally enjoy. If we keep going through the same demands of life day in and day out, week after week, we are going to burn out.” May we use these techniques to keep ourselves from burnout and work to restoring the joy in our lives day to day.
