His yoke is easy to carry you and carry you through

“Be gracious to me, O Lord; See my affliction from those who hate me, you who lift me up from the gates of death. Psalm 9:13”

Today’s message from “Daily Strength for Women” is called “Jaws”. The writer says, “Some days you just feel like the world is against you.… Each thing that goes wrong seems to add a little more salt to the wound. This is where you need the healing power of God's grace to soothe the pain of emotional and mental affliction.” In these situations, don’t turn to your jaws, turn to Jesus. You don’t need to say anything, but be still and allow Him to soothe all things, anger and frustration, and bring calmness and new beginnings.

Reflection from 7 Days to Finding Rest

Day 4 of “7 Days to Finding Rest” tells us “Being connected to Jesus enables us to move forward.” The text continues to highlight Matthews 11:28-29, but the emphasis today is on the word “yoke”. The author says, “For many, this word has a negative connotation, reminding them of slavery or a heavy weight to bear, whether it be religious, professional, family-related… But Jesus gives us a totally different definition: ‘For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.’” When we are connected with the Father, He will carry us through with whatever we are carrying, and He will literally carry us at the same time. He is our peace, and He is where we find rest. Better than the American Express card, we should never leave home without Him, or be without Him period.
