It’s time to take care of you
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4
This morning’s message speaks of a “Joyous Journey”. James 1:2-4 reads, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” The writer adds, “There is great joy in the journey: in the mundane details, in the difficult times, in the confusing moments, and in the tears.…Whatever the moment, there is joy if we look for it.… There's a journey of joy in waking up every day knowing it's another day to breathe in the fresh air.” There is a saying that says “count it all joy”, and now I understand it with a different perspective. There is an opportunity to find joy in everything we do, and every moment provides to us; we just have to embrace it and realize it. Seek to always find joy in your JOurneY. It’s ever present when we walk in faith.
Reflection from The Cure for Burnout by Rob Carman
Today we begin the series “The Cure for Burnout” by Rob Carman. The first topic of discussion is: “Burnout has become an epidemic”. The author begins, “Burnout, today in our culture, has become an epidemic, and it needs to be addressed from a biblical standpoint. We do not have to live that way. There is hope in God. The Apostle John states that health and prosperity, which always lead to energy, are linked to the wellbeing of a person's soul.” Carman then goes on to provide the key to resolve this problem, which is to stop the energy leaks. We must rid ourselves of those things that prevent us from wellness and wealth. Our Father is our ultimate provider and faith without works is dead. Therefore, let us work unto Christ and not unto (wo)man, burning ourselves out so much that we don’t make time for ourselves and what fuels us. Health is wealth so let us work to take care of our minds, bodies, and soul. As we plan to work, let us plan to work for ourselves.
Joshua 1:8
Though never perfect, may we study to progress and be prosperous.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
