Don’t waste away this day
“May God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his superabundance until you radiate with hope!” Romans 15:13
This morning’s devotional made me feel a bit melancholy, but then at peace within two statements, which read, “There is nothing worth hoping for in this life, for everything will one day pass away. The only one worthy of all our hope, who can fill us with all joy and peace, is God.” No matter what we hope for, if nothing else we must allow our hope to remain in the Lord. He is the ultimate provider of everything and knows what’s best for you and me. As the title suggests “Abound in Hope” each day as the Father continues to make a way.
Reflection from The Cure for Burnout
Today’s message from “The Cure for Burnout” is “Let Go and Let God”. The author says, “… every time we take control of our lives, we take them out of God's hands.“ Worrying is not going to bring back yesterday nor show us tomorrow; focusing on them only drains us. Therefore, as suggested, “There is an essential principle that you must learn: God only gives life in days. God does not give life in weeks, months, or years. He only provides life in days.“ Let us focus on THIS day that He has given us and love and rejoice in it.
