Let us always return to our Father for rest, to recommit, and reassurance
Perfect Peace and Rest
It is important for us to have both perfect peace and rest in this life. I know I have been focused on peace, yet I am constantly going, trying to make things happen and many times overextending myself and lacking true rest. Today’s devotional begins, “Some of the saddest words in the Bible are found at the end of Isaiah 30:15: "But you were unwilling." Here the Lord sets before His people a simple formula to the extreme difficulties of life they were experiencing. By returning to God's ways and resting in Him, they could be safe from the enemies who sought to destroy them. In quieting their spirits and trusting in God, they could be strengthened for the battles ahead. But they were unwilling.” We must listen to our bodies and minds because even then that’s our spirit speaking to us through our Creator. He knows how much we can bear. Rest is important; even God rested.
Isaiah 30:15 reads, “For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, ‘In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.’ But you were unwilling…”
Our true strength comes from returning and resting in the Father, in quiet contemplation.
Small Straws Scripture: Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Everything will work for our good, for He will ensure it is a lesson and or blessing in our lives—no trial will be wasted.
Youversion Verse of the Day: 1 King 8:61
Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.
May we remain fully devoted and committed to our Father as we were when we accepted Him as our Lord and Savior.
Let us always return to our Father for rest, to recommit, and reassurance, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
