Let us practice self-control as we lead in love
“The grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.” Titus 2:11-12
The message from “Daily Strength for Women” speaks to “The City Without Walls”, focusing in on boundaries and self-control. Titus 2:11-12 says, “The grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.” We all have issues with boundaries and balance, as the writer pinned, “Lack of self-control comes in a variety of forms…. Self-control requires discipline. In order to perfect it, we need to practice and ask God for help.” Let us reflect back as the writer has us to do in today’s devotional. Remember when we had to raise our hands in class? That was teaching self-discipline. May we take time to pause, wait, ask the Lord and/or engage with Him to help us be in control of things (and people) that we have difficulty saying “No” to in life. He is our peace and will keep us from being in pieces.
Reflection from Her True Worth
The message today from “Her True Worth” notes, “Scripture says we are co-laborers with God (1 Corinthians 3:9). And we have the incredible privilege of loving others by co-laboring with God (or co-loving). . . . As the writers goes on to say, “It’s time to stop partnering with low-identity thinking and start seeing ourselves and others as highly favored and precious in the eyes of our Father.” As we continue to walk closer with the Father, as His ways and thoughts are not our thoughts, our ways and thoughts are not like others. We learn to “Do good to others who hate us”, as written in Luke 6:27. Even though we may be mistreated or rejected, we must lead in love, for it is only right with Christ. Let us always remember, God is love.
2 Corinthians 4:18
May we always remember that what we are experiencing and see is only a temporary season. Greater is alway in store with our Lord who has a plan to prosper and not harm us from now into eternity.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Let us practice self-control as we lead in love, my friend.
