The Lord of Heaven's Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress. Psalm 46:7

Have you ever sat back and thought about who is on your team? Today’s message “Sideline” encourages us to pay attention to our circle of friends. Psalm 46:7 says, “The Lord of Heaven's Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.” Similarly, the text encourages us, “The next time you feel like someone in your community, friendship circle, or family is starting to have a difficult time, make sure that you spend some time investing in cheering them on and encouraging them to pick themselves up and keep going.” Let us be the support system of others as Christ provides for us.

Reflection from Living as an Overcomer

Day 4 of “Living as an Overcomer” focuses on “Viewing Sin God’s Way: The Church in Thyatira”. This message provides three ways for us to live out this right mindset. They include to biblically call out open sin, address personal rebellion or suffer the consequences, and take a stand. As we strive to do so, a statement resonates from the message that reminds us, “You cannot give up the truth for love. Nor can you give up love for truth. You have to hold them simultaneously because that reflects God’s standard.” Let us continually strive to live more and more pleasing to Christ along life’s journey.
