Never get so low and forget Who sits so high and loves you and I
Notice, Name, and Narrate
I don’t know anyone whose mind doesn’t raise, and I know mine gets going as soon as I wake up many times. I have to tell myself “stop”. In today’s discussion by Kundtz, that mind running many times is associated with fear. Kundtz writes, “By calling attention to your internal chatter you will gain a bit of control over it and maybe even quiet it down occasionally…. Noticing [your fears] is like being open: you simply take in the information and mark the presence of, be aware of, note, and store the dat… noticing will be more powerful for you than you expected.” As with recovery, acceptance is the first step to addressing our fears. Kundtz helps us to understand by doing so, we give ourselves power. He says, “By naming you also are accepting ownership…Fears named and addressed are fears weakened. Now, you have them; they don't have you.” Let us not be afraid to be afraid, but let us know that fears and troubles won’t last always. As with our goals and dreams, we must identify our fears, and then do something about them.
Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, “Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”
We do not have to face anything alone, for God knows and will help us navigate each matter, helping us to win each battle.
Small Straws Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
Let us always remember how special we are—the chosen ones set apart to be examples of who God is and how great He is and what He has done for us is available for others, too.
Youversion Verse of the Day Jeremiah 31:25
I will satisfy the weary, and all who are faint I will replenish.
No matter when or how often we become weary, fearful, or dismayed, He will strengthen and renew us along the way.
Never get so low and forget Who sits so high and loves you and I, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
