On Him we can depend without end

A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. Proverbs 25:28

We each have been equipped with “A Strong Weapon”, as is the title of today’s devotional. The message says, “Self-control is a powerful weapon. It keeps us from stepping into harm, from becoming entangled in sin. It helps us make wise decisions. It allows us to pause, to wait upon the Lord. It is a tool that God has graciously given to us, so we can be strong and protected in difficult in situations.” This is a powerful weapon so take it lightly. It can be the difference in all the decisions you make in this lifetime. Empower yourself through the power God has given you over yourself.

Reflection from 7 Days of Finding Rest

Today’s devotional from “7 Days of Finding Rest” begins with a question. “Do you know what the heaviest of burdens is?” The writer goes on to answer by saying, “When all is said and done, the heaviest of burdens is living without Jesus...because with Him and through Him is peace, joy, faith, confidence.“ Our Father is always with us to carry us (and even our burdens). Matthew 11:28-29 tells us the words from the Lord: “‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.’” Whatever you are carrying that you cannot control, turn it over to Him, and then turn over and rest.

Isaiah 54:10

His will to work miracles present day and do the unthinkable has no limit. Call on Him, but most importantly, depend on Him again and again.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
