Our Father forgives, so may we forgive and forget in faith
Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble. But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them. 1 John 2:9-11
This morning’s message is titled “A Divine Forgetfulness” and says, “It is hard to pray for someone while harboring ill feelings.… Christ offers us what we could tenderly call a ‘divine forgetfulness’ when it comes to our transgressions.” So as always, let us work to be Christlike in our forgiveness, love, and prayers for others. As a reminder, forgiveness is for me and you to be set free more than for the one who hurt us.
Reflection from Let’s Read the Bible Together (1 King 5, 1 King 6, & 1 King 7)
“But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or disaster.” 1 Kings 5:4 NIV
