Daily Devotional for May 9, 2021
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. Psalm 23:5
Today is Mother’s Day, and a lot of planning and preparation has BEen in order. Many will take part in meals, whether dining in our out. There will BE messages shared about mother’s and the gift they are to each of us. This will BE an opportunity where many will speak about how without their praying mother and their mother’s love, they would not BE where they are. Osteen this morning speaks of preparing a table today. He says, “When God brings you through the dark valley of opposition, He’s going to do it in such a way that all your enemies can see He has blessed you.” Let us NEVER BE ashamed of what we have BEen T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, Regrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak), for out breakthrough will BE the opportunity to help others get through.
Acts 3
No matter whether rich or pour, as with Peter in Acts 3:6, we may not have a nickel to our names, but what we do have, let us give to others—the gift of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. May we always share of Him and His goodness. It is abundant and never ending, and just as important, free to all.
REflection from The Confident Woman
Just this morning I was speaking to one of my siSTARS about life and experiences. Joyce Meyers’s message from “The Confident Woman” aligns with our dialogue. On this day, many of us women truly need to go get a life (as the message is titled) or go get our lives back!!!! We have allowed roles and REsponsibilities to overshadow who we are first to and for ourselves. I don’t know about you, but I have BEen through some things; I’ve BEen through trials, hurt, REgrets, obstacles, uncertainty, guilt, heartbreak—I’ve made mistakes. However, as Meyers says, “Making mistakes is not the end of the world. We can recover from most mistakes. But one of the few mistakes we cannot recover from is the mistake of never being willing to make one in the first place! God works through our faith, not our fear.”
This day is a special day for us women, whether mother’s by blessings with our own children, or the motherly love and nurturing we share with others, celebrate you this day and for the days ahead. As Meyers encourages, learn to step out into things and find out what God has for us in life, even if it may make you uncomfortable but leads you to do what you feel is BEst for you. Live in the moment with no REgrets, for the present is truly a gift.
1 Corinthians 13:6-7
Love—God’s love—is all we need to embrace, live in, and give away. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
