Daily Devotional for August 4, 2020
For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 1 Corinthians 15:25
As I REad today’s devotional by Joel Osteen, I REalized that I am working to make history, not only in my life, but in that of others, by shaking some things off and packing them under my feet. I have carried things and people who have come BEfore me have carried things, generational matters (I won’t call them curses), and they will end with me. Not only will they end with me, but God is/has given me a platform to welcome others and support them in doing the same. Osteen starts off his message today by saying, “You need to see every obstacle, every sickness, every temptation, and every bad habit as being under your feet, because you are united with Jesus.” He ends his message with “ It’s only a matter of time before you breakthrough to a new level.”
Along my JOurneY I have changed my perspective to truly keep the end in mind and where I’m going and what I want to accomplish. REmaining forward, focused, and following in faith (and not fear) and favor, I have put the past not only BEhind me, but under my feet. One example is the medical history and challenges with weight in my family. As I have chatted with individuals over the past few days, I struggled with my weight and not eating healthy for years, yet God has given me a new perspective and surrounded me with support and with the mindset to break this habit through Him. He has also used me as a willing vessel to share my JOurneY, working to help others break the cycle and pack the past of struggle and defeat under their feet. We are all working to rise above those things that have held us bound and our families, and creating new normals and new BEginnings of life and favor for ourselves and those who come BEhind us.
Job 14
Job 14 REminds us that life is short. Therefore I continuously encourage myself and you to live in the moment with no REgrets.
I’m so grateful for the daily REadings and confirmation in the messages. This final entry from DeWayne Hamby puts in perspective and confirms what God is allowing in my life. We truly have to BE careful what we pray for in life, BEcause God will come through. Each day I have prayed that God will allow me to BE a willing vessel, and He is issuing me in ways I could never imagine. Last Tuesday I felt like a modern day Moses spoken of in this devotional. God moved me inside to BEgin telling my story. I didn’t know what I was going to say nor what would come of it. Like Hamby said, “God worked through imperfect vessels to accomplish His great glory...God only expects for you to be obedient, regardless of your comfort level.” Similarly, today He is using me, and I am working to BE obedient as I allow Him to navigate me on my JOurneY of glorious adventure to BE used by Him to share His goodness with others.
Proverbs 22:6
Whether through actions, words, signs, and most importantly prayer, may we BE the example for our children to follow and be led to Christ. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Thank Him for the things to come this Tuesday, my friend.
