This life is bigger than us
“Yes, there are many parts, but only one body. The eye can never say to the hand, ‘I don't need you.’ The head can't say to the feet, ‘I don't need you.’ In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary.” 1 Corinthians 12:20-21 and 24-25
In today’s message “One Body” 1 Corinthians 12:20-21 and 24-25 is highlighted saying, “Yes, there are many parts, but only one body. The eye can never say to the hand, ‘I don't need you.’ The head can't say to the feet, ‘I don't need you.’ In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary.” Let’s be appreciative of every single part of our own bodies and their functions. Moreover, let us be cognizant of the body of Christ, made i by each of His children, respecting each other and what we bring together as one for His glory and kingdom building here on earth.
Reflection from Choosing Gratitude
“For Children” is the focus of our 5th day from “Choosing Gratitude”. It begins with a quote Fyodor Dostoyevsky which says, “The soul is healed by being with children.” I genuinely believe this, as this is something similar my dear friend and I were discussing yesterday about our kids. When I am low and not feeling the best, or just downright overwhelmed, I seek the opportunity to engage with my kids, whether through a conversation or engagement. The message says, “Their freedom brings my healing. Their silliness lightens the scene. Their innocence helps us sing…. Today, may we look at a child, square in the eyes, and get down low with them. Listen to a story they have, join them in their world, feel the weightlessness they feel. And see what healing comes.” Let us embrace both childlike faith and experiences to help us to let go and live.
Colossians 4:6
Let us always be mindful of the words we speak; may they be tasteful even to those who may leave bitter tastes in our mouths, for words have power, and what we speak we should pray is pleasing in taste as we represent the body of Christ.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
This life is bigger than us, my friend.
