Devotional for November 2, 2020

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭4:31‬ ‭

God has placed a gift (if not gifts) and a purpose in all of us, and we shall not go any longer without tapping into them and sharing them with others. We must have the mindset that Joel Osteen speaks of that John and Peter had when they prayed for the people in Acts 4: “We cannot be contained. God put this dream in our hearts, and as long as we stay in faith, nothing can shut it down.” Don’t hide, hold back, or harbor what He has put in you; help and heal with your gifts.

Exodus 6

We already know what happened when Moses followed the Lord’s instructions and informed Pharaoh to let the people go, but let us not be like Moses initially. In Exodus 6, Moses questioned God asking, “If the Israelites will not listen to me, why would Pharaoh listen to me, since I speak with faltering lips?”(Exodus‬ ‭6:12‬) When God puts something in us we should never question or second guess it. We are His vessels to BE used and obedient, leaning not unto our own understanding, but always acknowledging Him for He directs our paths and will not lead us astray.

As we walk by faith and not sight, let us REmember that “some of God’s greatest blessings are blessings in disguise”, as highlighted by Mark Batterson in today’s devotional from “Double Blessing”. John 16:33 says, “In this world you will have trouble.” Batterson notes, “The blessing of God is not an immunity card against pain and suffering...some are more difficult to discern, like the blessing of brokenness.” Sometimes we have to go T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, REgrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) to get to our breakthrough, which is the blessing. Sometimes you have to let that habit go, that job go, and even that person go to achieve God’s plan for your life. How do I know? From experience, but most importantly from the latter part of the scripture in John 16:33; “But take heart! I have overcome the world.” If He has overcome the world He will not forsake you. ‭‭

Romans 12:2

Let us not walk by sight based upon (wo)man’s expectations, but let us study for ourselves and gain an understanding of what God expects of us. We do not have to answer to anyone about our life’s JOurneY but Thee. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Make major moves or at least momentum this Monday, my friend.
