Daily Devotional for August 7, 2020

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:19‬ ‭

During the past week I have had zoom calls about my JOurneY over the past few years, and specifically my weight loss over the last few months. The first thing I have emphasized to people is “change your mind, change your life.” Pretty much these exact same words were spoken by Lisa Nichols last night in her book that I am reading, and yet again this morning in Osteen’s devotional he says, “Quit telling yourself you’ll never...and change your perspective.” Not only must we change our mindset about what we can do, but we must also walk as if we can do. I just smiled and giggled as I thought about my siSTAR who teases me about me walking and jingling my keys, but now when I think about it, could it actually BE my walk, treading on the enemy as well as the old me whose confidence was nonexistent no longer in existence? May we REalize that we now walk with the King. Therefore, we must keep our heads up, walking boldly in faith, shake the devil off, pack him under our feet and keep on moving—forward, focused, and following in faith (and not fear) and favor.

JOB 17
No matter how difficult tests and trials may BE, and no matter the vice the enemy tries to use against us, like Job, may we REmember that “...the desires of our heart can turn night into day; in the face of the darkness light is near.” (Job‬ ‭17:11-12‬)

As with Ben Kilgore in the last day of this three part series, I have REalized that “...something exceptional happened when I made myself vulnerable. In that posture of honesty, God’s power broke through my shame and secrets.” Since I have BEgun to share my story and my JOurneY, God has truly BEgun to REstore the JOY in me. As Kilgore goes on to say, “Confession is good for the soul. It breathed life in mine.” Whatever you are dealing with internally as your own personal battle, I pray that even if just to our Father, you REveal so you can heal.

Our Father knows all about us, and only what He knows matters when it comes to us, our thoughts, actions, and words. May we not worry whether our walk is pleasing to man, but may we focus on our walk that is pleasing to our Father. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Feet faith forward this Friday, my friend.
