We can depend on the Word when we cannot depend on anything else

Be Still and Learn

This morning I decided to grab the 3-Minute Devotions for Women book off of my shelf that helped me at the beginning of my “second half living” journey. The message for Day 1 read differently than I first remember. That was a time when I was not consistently carving out time with and for God outside of attending church, which then was sporadic. It’s like I was running from God instead of running to Him. The message begins, “Quiet time to learn of God's ways requires discipline.” The message goes on to say, “Our quiet time-reading scripture and praying—is like water on a sponge. It fills us and expands our ability to keep going. It strengthens us for the day. It empowers us to fulfill what God requires.” I can attest to that, and know that if it weren’t for my commitment to incorporate time first thing in the morning to help me, I would not be where I am today. I am grateful for my daily lifestyle that has helped me through life’s triumphs and trials.

The scripture highlighted with today’s message is from Psalm 1:2, “But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.”

May we seek every opportunity to bask in the word of the Lord each and every opportunity we have each day.

Small Straws Scripture: Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Let us know and remain confident in Christ that everything—even difficult and trying times, is going to work for us as part of God’s plan for our lives.

Verse of the Day: Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭18‬ ‭

“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”

Today and each day forward, let us be intentional about living in peace and not in pieces with our thoughts, deeds, and interactions.

We can depend on the Word when we cannot depend on anything else, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈‭‭
