What you have been praying for is in store

“Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

It’s October first and the first day of a new month. The focus of today’s devotional is “Strong and Courageous”. It begins with Deuteronomy 31:6 which says, “Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” The writer then says, “When we are confronted with problems too immense for us to handle, we need to ask ourselves if fighting is what the Lord wants us to do.” Now that made me begin to think in a different manner about some things. Lately (and even in the past) I find myself saying I am tired of being strong, but am I tired of being strong, or tired from trying to fight? Isaiah 30:15 says, In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength.” It’s time for me to stop fighting, rest, and know that He fights my battles. Let Him be my vindicator and trust that victory is on the way with every situation.

Reflection from Casting Doubts Aside

Today’s message from “Casting Doubts Aside” speaks to laughter and doubt. It begins by saying, “Usually, laughter is a sign of joy or amusement. Some people laugh when they’re nervous. Others do when they find themselves in awkward situations. In today’s reading, laughter is a sign of doubt.“ As with Sarah who laughed at the thought of conceiving at an older age, just because we may become uncomfortable because we can’t make things happen, we should never doubt the will and power of our Father. He can do all things but fail. So, laugh in comfort knowing the excitement and possibilities in store for you and me along this glorious adventure.
