You are royalty, so know your worth

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16

This morning’s devotional, “Royalty Protocol” speaks about imagining walking into Buckingham Palace and taking a seat, and then asking for help. Doing so sounds absurd or out of order, but we are reminded, “But there is a royal throne we can approach without fear or proper etiquette. It is without guards, payments, locks, and restrictions. Its occupant is the God of all creation, and he is eager to hear about your day's ups and downs.” Our Father who is rich in houses and land, and the royalist of all is always available to us. We don’t have to travel anywhere nor get through security, for He is omnipresent and our own safety. Wherever and whenever, seek Him and call on Him for what you need and desire; He will give you what’s best for you.

Reflection from Her True Worth by Brittany Maher and Cassandra Speer

Today we begin the devotional series “Her True Worth” by Brittany Maher and Cassandra Speer. The message begins, “Have you ever been so desperate to belong that you were willing to forfeit who you were in exchange for acceptance?” The author then goes on to say, “I also believed the lie that I needed to be compliant and accommodating in order to be loved.” Both of these resonate with me, and particularly the latter. We are then reminded, “Dear friend, popularity at the cost of your identity is a cheap trade. Don’t buy into it. . . . Thankfully, we can look throughout the Bible and see that God defines worth and value differently than the world.” When there comes a time when you wonder who you are and your worth, be sure to turn to the book with promises, truth, and reminders of who you are, whose you are, and how precious and worthy you are to Him.
