Stay intertwined with the Living Vine

“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Hebrews 4:9-10

The weekend usually gives us time to REst from the week, and actually think about the week ahead. Today’s devotional from “Daily Strength for Women” poses a question, “Have you ever thought about the fact that our lives are similar to blizzards?”. The text goes on with, “Responsibilities come into our days much like those snowflakes. Some days it's like the beginning of a snowstorm with a gentle stream of tasks. On other days, it's like a blizzard of responsibilities that pile up. Just as God is in control of the blizzards, he's in control of our lives. He cares when we feel overwhelmed. He's given us a sweet promise of rest.“ Let us know that our lives are in His hands. Whether things seem to BE swirling out of control, or all is calm, know He is our source, know what we need when we need it. May you find time to REst in Him and worship intentionally this weekend.

Luke 13

“…Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord” (Luke‬ ‭13‬:‭35‬).

REflection from Fruitful Living by Courtnaye Richard

Today we BEgin the series “Fruitful Living” with Courtnaye Richard. Day One, today, is called “Staying Connected to the Vine”. The message BEgins, “Scripture tells us that apart from Christ, we can do nothing. And it’s so true! In John 15:5, Jesus tells us, ‘Yes, I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.’” We can do nothing without Christ. Richard goes on to

say, “However, I do want to note here that if we are disconnected from the vine, then we will struggle to act in love or have joy. We will struggle to be peaceable or live patiently. We will struggle to express kindness or show God’s goodness. We will struggle to remain faithful, walk humbly, while being gentle or trying to practice self-control.” Let us feel our BEst, BE our BEst, and produce the BEst outcomes for ourselves and others by staying intertwined with the Vine—our true and Living God—our Life Line.
