Empathy, love, and doing the work will always get us T.H.R.O.U.G.H.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
This morning’s devotional gave me a since of peace and confidence in knowing all will BE well no matter what comes my way. We are REminded that Christ did “Overcome the World”. John 16:33 as highlighted this morning says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” The message from Daily Strength for Women says, “There is no evil in this world that Christ has not already overcome… God has related his plan to us so we may have peace…Regardless of what terrible situations we face in this life, they will pass away.” Let us REalize and REflect on our lives. There have been so many situations, great and small, that He has already worked for our good. If He did it before, He will do it again BEcause He is still that same God. Let us stay encouraged. He has accounted for everything that may happen to us and guarantees that we can overcome it through his power. If He is our Father and has overcome the world, and we are His children, then whatever we have to go T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, Regrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) we will make it through and to our breakthrough.
REflection from Seen: Healing Despair and Anxiety Through Connection
Today’s message from “Seen: Healing Despair and Anxiety Through Connection” says “Show Up”. The author writes, “Jesus didn’t rush to ‘fix’ the problem with Lazarus. In fact, Jesus knew He had the power to heal Lazarus at any moment, but he didn’t heal him right away. Instead, for reasons unknown to us, Jesus heard of Lazarus’s sickness, and instead of healing him with a prayer from a distance, he showed up…. Just His presence matters. Wherever Jesus was, he was 100% there and present. He wasn’t distracted or preoccupied. He was and is just there.“ As we work to do the work He has instilled in us, may we, too, show up—BEing fully present, and not distracted, engaging our emotional side of our brain. For as the author says, “Showing up is simply 50% of the work”, but let us BE armed with empathy and love to BE 100% present and focused on doing His will with love and empathy each day.
