Christ is our comforter in every circumstance
When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Proverbs 3:24
It’s a new day with new BEginnings, new blessings, new mercies, and new opportunities. At this point we do not know what the day holds, but we do know Who will hold us through the day. REgardless of what this day may bring, today’s messages provides us with comfort about REst. It says, “Sweet sleep, that goal after a day flled with hectic schedules and cramped expectations, dissipates with the fast drumbeat of a fearful heart.… Plan ahead to spend your last waking hours intentionally thinking through the blessings of your day. Look forward to thanksgiving as your head hits the pillow. Remember God's faithfulness throughout the day. Prepare for sweet sleep with confidence in God.“ No matter what we experience each day, our Father is able to provide security and REst for our souls. Proverbs 3:24 is our gentle REminder, “If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.” Security and REst is found in our Savior.
REflection from Finding Joy: A Journey to Unshakeable Wonder in an Uncertain World
This morning’s message by Shaunti Feldhahn talks about venting. She says, “When we’re angry, we think it is healthy to vent or ‘let out a little steam’ from the kettle so it doesn’t explode, right?… Wrong. Neuroscientists have found the truth is the opposite. When we ‘vent’ in that way, we are actually activating an interconnected anger system in the brain. We’re actually turning up the heat! Sisters, ironically, when we ‘vent,’ it isn’t the bad feelings that are leaving us. It is our joy.” We must not fuel the fires in our lives—those things that get us angry and frustrated, but we must REmember Philippians 4:8. “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Let us cancel out the negative with positive and focus on the unspeakable JOY the Father will give us for every situation for He can work all things for our good.
Matthew 7:12
May our thoughts and actions towards others BE a REflection of what we desire.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
