Daily Devotional for April 8, 2021

This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 NKJV

Yesterday I REceived an important document, I had a phenomenal workday, picked up my kids from their dad, and headed out of town for the REst of their spring break. As we traveled I spoke with my friend who asked me how I was doing. I REsponded that I was in an amazing place and that I was proud of myself. There’s nothing like peace, and with the title of this morning’s devotional, I am embracing where I am. Osteen encourages us, “Learn to embrace where you are. He’s given you the grace not just to be there but to be there with a good attitude.“ As I drove last night looking in the REar view mirror, I also REflected on where I’ve BEen and where I’m going. I’m truly leaving things in God’s hands, and as today’s scripture says, “This is the day the LORD has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24). Each day is a new day with new BEginnings, new blessings, new mercies, and new opportunities. Let us enJOY the JOurneY.

Daniel 8

As with Daniel, we may have visions, but “Understand, O mortal, that the vision is for the time of the end” (Daniel‬ ‭8:17‬ ‭NRSV‬‬). Let us work to live in the moment with no REgrets as the Father directs what is immediately ahead of us.

REflection from Peace for Your Mind, Hope for Your Heart

Today we BEgin a new devotional series, “Peace for Your Mind, Hope for Your Heart” by Dr. Clinton. The message for today speaks to how “Many of us avoid our emotions like the plague! ...Some of us are sure that if we let our true feelings come to the surface, we couldn’t control them. ...Others try to convince themselves that ‘good Christians don’t get angry, never feel hurt, and always rise above their shame.’” That was me, and then I let go and let God have His way with my life. I BEcame vulnerable with Him, and He showed me a true friend, a REal siSTAR indeed, who I could open up and BE authentic with and trust with my most intimate thoughts. That’s when I BEgan to discover true peace. The devotional REminds us of how Daniel in Psalm 13:1–2 complains and even questions God. Many of us grew up hearing that you should never question God, but if we don’t, how will we REceive His answers for our lives? Like today’s devotional REcommends, “If you don’t know a person who can come alongside you, ask God to show you.” We all need a confidant(e) to share in our JOurneY.

1 Peter 4:10

Love isn’t love until you give it away. The same is true for the gift(s) that God has blessed you with. God gave the ultimate gift of life, therefore, let us share in the gift(s) we BEhold to touch the lives of others. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Tap into your talents this Thursday, my friend.
