We are chosen through Christ
“…and you know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that not one thing has failed of all the good things that the Lord Your God promised concerning you; all have come to pass for you, not one of them has failed." Joshua 23:14
This morning’s message is titled “Unfailing Goodness”, for that is what is afforded to all of us through Christ. The scripture associated from Joshua 23:14 says, “…and you know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that not one thing has failed of all the good things that the Lord Your God promised concerning you; all have come to pass for you, not one of them has failed." I continue to encourage us to REflect on our lives. As we look back, even those things that we went T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, Regrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) at the time that we didn’t know or couldn’t see how we survived, actually made us stronger, wiser, better. So, like Romans 8:28, let us hold this scripture near and dear as hope and REassurance of what God has done and will continue to do in our lives.
Mark 13
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Mark 13:31 NIV).
Reflection from Sacred Search by Gary Thomas
Today’s message from Gary Thomas speaks to “Making the Choice”. Choices is one of my favorite words as I have BEen along my faith walk. As much as we want to BE chosen, we get to choose for ourselves what we desire in life (and that goes for men and women), particularly with RElationships. The message today says, “The reason it is so crucial to adopt the Bible’s view of a wise choice over ‘finding the one’ is that the former attitude allows you to objectively consider the person you marry.” It goes further to say, “Powerful emotions can blind us to all sorts of clues. But when we adopt the biblical attitude of making a wise choice, we can use all that God has given us to arrive at a solid decision that should be based on a number of factors: scriptural mandates, wisdom, parental and pastoral advice, and prayer.”
The same way that we choose a other things in life, let us BE open to discover, by chance the one God has for us. You can choose; you don’t have to wait to BE chosen.
