Daily Devotional for March 14, 2021
“Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.” Isaiah 48:10 NKJV
I am so grateful to have BEen REfined. This morning’s devotional by Osteen highlights Isaiah 48:10, which says “See, I have refined you, but not like silver; I have tested you in the furnace of adversity.” Osteen goes on to say, “There are some things you can only learn in the trial of affliction. You can’t learn them by reading a book or listening to a message. You have to experience them. That place of testing is where your spiritual muscles are developed.” This morning, as my siSTAR would say, I have an attitude of gratitude. I’m so grateful for all that I have BEen T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, Regrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) for I am stronger, wiser, and have experienced breakthroughs. We don’t always understand things going through, but experience is a good teacher and REflection is the BEst REminder.
This morning’s message makes me think of some words that a family member of mine REcites at funerals that he directs. It says, “Reputation is what you’re supposed to be; character is what you are...Reputation is what (wo)men say about you on your tombstone; character is what the angels say before the throne of God.”~William Hersey Davis
May we REmember whose we are and what we are—a child of the Most High God, and may we continue to develop into who He wants us to BE.
Hosea 7
As continued from yesterday’s word from Hosea, He will restore the fortunes..and heal the corruption ...and the wicked deeds...(Hosea 7:1). Again, what BElongs to us will BE given to us, and what isn’t good for us will BE taken from us.
REflection from Restoration: Deluxe Bible Plan
Lecrae’s message this morning from Restoration: Deluxe Bible Plan, speaks to what God has birthed in me. He says, “In Colossians, Paul shows us that we can fix our eyes on something else besides ourselves. Our value and worth have been given to us by the creator of the universe. We don’t have to scramble to find it in achievements, popularity, money, or anything else that will never satisfy anyway...My worth isn’t found inside me, it is in Christ who gives it to me.” This is exactly why I profess it’s not about my little ego, but it’s all about “My Big E.G.O.”—Everything God Ordains. It’s all about Him and not me.
Isaiah 66:13
