Daily Devotional for August 26, 2021
“For we walk by faith, not by sight,” 1 Corinthians 5:7
Osteen highlighted 1 Corinthians 5:7, “For we walk by faith, not by sight,” and summed up with his message by saying, “The anointing on your life will take you further than people with more talent.” Talent is a wonderful thing that is developed, but the favor of God upon your life is unmatched, for He makes impossible “I’m possible” for you and me.
Joshua 7
In Joshua 7:12 it is written that God said, “Hidden among you, O Israel, are things set apart for the Lord. You will never defeat your enemies until you remove these things from among you.” There are places we are not supposed to be, there are things we are not to do, and even people who we shouldn’t be with. We must REmove some things from our lives in order to win in this life God has prepared for us.
REflection from When The Holy Spirit Moves
We know of the fruit of the Spirit that is emphasized in Galatians 5:22-23. Today’s devotional from “When The Holy Spirit Moves” speaks to Romans 12:6–8, and the spiritual gifts: the gift of serving; the gift of teaching; the gift of encouraging people; the gift of contributing to the needs of others; the gift of leadership; and the gift of showing mercy. The text goes on to say, “Believers have different spiritual gifts, but the fruit of the Spirit should be fully present in each and every believer.” Let us each day REcognize the gifts we do possess, but in all that we do and are, allow the fruit of the Spirit to permeate from us.
