Trust and obey as the Father leads your way

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had…”. Romans 15:5

This morning’s message is “Cheer for the Prize”. It gives an example of how cheerleaders can BE seen full of energy and support, but we don’t know what might BE going on with each of them underneath all that encouragement. But we are charged from the message, “In this same way, let us encourage one another in our faith. Imagine our Abba Father's joy when he sees us lifting each other up in praise and loving despite whatever we might have going on.” Let us support and lift up one another as we work to REach the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

This morning’s message from “Opportunity Leadership” says “Trust God for Direction”. The writer says, “We all know we need to completely trust God with the direction of our lives and ministries.…We don’t trust because we’re uncomfortable with the risk — the risk of unclear outcomes and destinations.” The writer then goes on to comparing our decision to trust the Father to determining whether to travel in the sea by sailboat or motorboat saying, “When sailing, we trust the wind to propel and guide us, and we must gear everything we do around being responsive to the wind’s direction, strength, and consistency. In contrast, in a powerboat, we trust in the motor to give us power, bearing, and stamina. In it, we can easily ignore or even go against the wind because our course is self-determined by our horsepower.” We are encouraged, however, to sail along with the Father, which charges us to trust His direction, moving in line with the winds with no manipulation and not fighting against them BEcause if the unknown. Sailing with the Savior is trusting as we travel along the trajectory we has set out for you and me.
