Daily Devotional for October 29, 2020
That is why I remind you to fan into flame the gracious gift of God, [that inner fire—the special endowment] which is in you through the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination]. 2 Timothy 1:6
When we sit in one place we get comfortable, and eventually we get stuck—needing to stretch when we get up out of a certain position. The same thing goes for us in this life. We were not created to stay in one position. Greater is in store for our lives, but we have to stretch to get there. Stretching allows us to extend and REmain flexible and open with the ability to do and REach for what’s in store. As Osteen says this morning, “Make room in your thinking for the new thing God wants to do. Don’t let your temporary provision become permanent.” Get out of your comfort zone and stretch to REach your next destination, for there is so much more in store for you.
Exodus 2
As with Moses in Exodus 2, even when we do what looks wrong in the eyes of man, God forgives, and He can and still will use the situation and us to do and BE a blessing to others. He works everything for our good, whether the REsults are blessings or lessons.
Some of us have BEen down on ourselves too long. As Tauren Wells states this morning, “Get back to what you were called to do because who you have been called to be hasn’t changed. If you’ve made a mistake but repented, I’ve got good news: You’re forgiven! So get up.” The scripture says “Grace and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.” You may have forgotten that, but the Father never has and never will. Change your mind—change your life. Wells goes on to say, “The voices of guilt and shame will whisper in your mind and make you feel like your calling has been sidelined.” As we spoke to this week, it’s time to put on the full armor of God and get suited up so you, my brothers and sisters, can get back in the game!
Psalm 27:1
Our Father is always there to show us the way and keep us along life’s JOurneY. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Turn to Him this Thursday and every day, my friend.
