Daily devotional for May 17, 2021

Isaac planted crops in that land and [during a famine year] reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him. Genesis 26:12

When matters are given to God, and you stay rooted and grounded in Him, His word, and His way, people and things can’t help but to prosper. Even during a famine year, Osteen speaks of how Isaac REaped a hundredfold BEcause the Lord blessed him in Genesis 26:12. I, too, am a witness, for even during this pandemic when some were losing jobs and businesses closed, my business grew and I was promoted twice unexpectedly. Where is your faith? May it take root today in the Lord.

Acts 11

As in Acts 11, even during famine or other trying times, may we give freely of whatever we have to our fellow Christians as the Spirit of Christ would have us to. Listen to you gut—your intention, for it is placed in you for a reason.

REflection from Starting Your Day Off Right

Today we BEgin hearing from Joyce Meyer’s “Starting Your Day Off Right” devotional series. Her message for today says, “Be Renewed”. She says to us, “The Bible doesn't say ‘hope so, it could be, or it may be’; it declares that you will be renewed.” Most of us know about the scripture from Isaiah 40:31 which says, “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” This morning, Meyer provides another scripture that ties into this one, for surely God keeps us and sees us through. He is the REason we are where we are and who we are in this life. May we always give credit where credit is due. 1 Corinthians 1:31 says, “If you’re going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for Christ.”. Give Him the glory for what He has brought you to and T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, Regrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak).
