Be at peace and find stillness and rest in your waiting

“He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves.” Psalm 107:29

The title alone from today’s devotional “At The Beach” brings a sense of peace. This message says “Sometimes we forget that the God who stills the waves can also still his children.” Many of us are always on the go or responsible for people and projects, we need to get away and be still. We are then reminded by the writer, “that spending time delighting in what he's made can refresh us for the days ahead.” Many of us took time off for Thanksgiving, but let us get in the habit of taking spiritual breaks more often to still our minds, bodies, and souls for renewal, resetting, refreshing, and restoration.

Reflection from What Are You Waiting For

This morning we are reminded of “What You Must Do In The Waiting”. We are given three suggestions in today’s message from the series “What Are You Waiting For”. First we are encouraged to “Surround yourself with balcony people. Balcony people are people who will cheer you on. They’re encouraging you with truth. They remind you of who you are and to whom you belong.” Second, we are reminded to “Saturate your soul with God’s promises”, and finally, “Surrender your heart completely to God.… Either you’re in control of your life or God is. Your feeling of dissatisfaction in the waiting might just be an indication that you have not fully surrendered an area of your life to the Lord.” Let us focus on these three steps to bring us closer to what God is preparing for us in due time.

Be at peace and find stillness and rest in your waiting, my friend.
