BE you and BE true

So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic. Isaiah 28:16

This morning’s message speaks about a “Firm Foundation”. It says, “You can take a brave stand in your relationships with others. Share what you know about the Lord and what he has done in your life…. He is the firm foundation.” It emphasizes this by comparing our lives and RElationship with the Father, to that of an architect and a building. When we truly depend on Him, He literally builds us up, strengthening us in a way that we can BE shaken or falter. As we study the word and embrace who we are in Him we stand firm;nothing can alter the foundation laid by Him.

Matthew 23

Let us focus on BEing servant leaders, for as in Matthew 23:11-12 the Lord says, “The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

It says, “We are comfortable with life and do not want anything to rock our boat. We may be so used to people flattering us and sugar-coating their words…. In a world of lies, truth can be unpopular, unsettling and unpalatable. Because of that, we shy away from allowing ourselves to be confronted by the truth: the truth from God’s word and the truth of who we really are. To experience a revival, we first need to have ears to hear God’s truth, even if it speaks to something deep in our hearts that we may not want to hear.” As the old adage says, the truth will set you free. Sometimes the lies that we tell ourselves or hear from others keep us comfortable when we need to BEcome uncomfortable for growth and change. What are you lying to yourself about? Face it today, working to BE free in ‘23.
