Daily Devotional for July 20, 2021

“To give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning…” Isaiah‬ ‭61:3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“It’s a new day… and God is breathing new life into your spirit”, Osteen proclaims this morning. Today’s devotional highlights Isaiah 61:3, which REminds us that we will REceive beauty for ashes, and it also emphasizes 1 Peter 1:8, for we are promised joy unspeakable and full of glory. REmain encouraged, for it all is on the way.

Genesis 47

As with Jacob’s family in the land of Goshen in Genesis 47:27, may we be fruitful and multiplied greatly.

REflection from: The Cost of Following: Self or Christ

Today’s message from “The Cost of Following: Self or Christ” focuses in on bearing the cross ourselves. If posed, I would assume that most people are not REady to die. There are things they still want to see happen and things they desire to do. But when that question is posed, the mind most likely immediately focuses in on death and dying, not death and denying. As we walk this earth, are we willing to deny ourselves (death) to do what Christ asks of us? What are you or have you given up in your life to follow Christ?

Proverbs 13:20

As the saying goes, “Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.” Let us BE careful of the company we keep, for we BEcome guilty by association. Are those around wise or a waste of time? 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Take time for your thoughts and trust Thee this Tuesday, my friend.
