Daily Devotional for August 2, 2020

“In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” ‭‭John‬ ‭1:4-5‬

Perspective is the key to progress, purpose, and prosperity. You all should know one of my favorite verses by now. God works everything for our good. That’s one of His promises to us, and if He said it, we can count on it. He is the Light, and shows us the way when we are overcome with darkness. He is our hope when we are in despair. He is the Ultimate game changer when the battle may seem lost in man’s eyes.

Job 12

Let us BE mindful of one of the simplest songs we learned as children, “He’s got the whole world in His hands.” No matter how big or small, weak, meek, or powerful, everything BElongs to God. “In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.” Oh, what comfort it is knowing on Him we can depend? (Job‬ ‭12:10‬)

I have come to REalize that when we are in our most vulnerable and possibly lowest of times, that’s when God unexpectedly calls in us to BE a willing vessel. As in today’s devotional by DeWayne Hamby, “When God Calls”, “Many people can relate to the feeling that perhaps God rang the wrong phone when He interrupted your normal, comfortable life for you to answer an impending call for service. You will be the first one to question your ability, but probably not the last.” May we trust Him and His plan, for He not only works everything for our good, but He uses our lives as a testament of faith for others to see and experience His wondrous work.

Psalm 119:11

May we fill up on Him and His word overflow in our heart, mind, and soul. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Seek solitude and sit with the Savior this Sunday—soak up the SONshine.
