Daily Devotional for August 1, 2020

“This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.” ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭17:46‬ ‭

The story of David and Goliath in today’s vernacular just REminds us and should give us the confidence to “slay all day”. Not only should we have the confidence, but GODfidence to BE the BEst at what we do. Moreover, we should know that we are more than conquerors and can overcome any obstacles (no matter how big or small) that may come our way. May we show the enemy better than we can tell ‘em that power BElongs to God and we are His heirs.

Job 11

When things come up against us, as they will in our lifetime, we are REminded that we only need to prepare our hearts and lift up our hands to Him in prayer…Having hope will give us courage and we will be protected and will rest in safety. (Job‬ ‭11:13; 18)

The final devotional from Bill Johnson’s series, “You Were Born For Significance”, REminds us that “We have been predestined to live with the blessings of the Lord on our lives as calling cards that others would accept His invitation to receive His grace.” Johnson goes further, however, to also REmind us that “Comparing ourselves to one another can only lead to wrong thinking and ultimately wrongdoing. It is the breeding ground for jealousy.” What God has for me is for me, and what He has for you is for you. We don’t know each other’s intimate stories of how He kept and blessed each of us, yet for His grace we are able to share His goodness and what He’s done for us to others through outward manifestation. As Johnson says, “We have the distinct honor of demonstrating the effect of grace on our lives.” As we continue to grow into our own along our JOurneY, we must REmember 1 John 4:27, “As He is, so are we in the world.“ Johnson summarizes it perfectly. We’re being conformed into the image of our victorious and glorified savior!” We have no choice but to succeed and BE blessed.

Revelation 4:11

He created all things, including you and me and we each have our own unique purpose and REason for existence. May we walk in it and not that of someone else’s for what God has for me is for me, and what He has for you is for you.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
