Daily Devotional for August 17, 2021

“And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him, And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.” Acts‬ ‭7:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Osteen continues to encourage us this morning to not get discouraged with the process that we go T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, Regrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) to get to the promises of God. Like Joseph on Acts 7:10, God was with him and rescued him from slavery. Ecclesiastes 9:11 also encourages us to keep the faith and endure so that we might win. He’s never failed us, and won’t start now.

Leviticus 25

Leviticus 25 REminds us that there is a season for everything: a time to plant, harvest, REap REwards, but also time for REst.

REflection from Bold Leaders

In today’s final message from Hillsong College’s “Bold Leaders” we hear, “Bold leaders are consistently faithful with what is in their hands and trust that God is preparing them for the seasons to come.” This REminds me of myself. I REcall in 2014, all of my close colleagues were leaving the institution, and I wondered why not me. Now looking back over my (almost) 16 years of faithfulness, God was preparing me for this season in my life. This definitely was not a part of my plan, but His for me. I saw only a classroom teacher for me, but He saw so much more as my destiny. Keep the faith, my brother and siSTAR, for He has a plan for your faithfulness and your life.

Matthew 6:7

He knows our thoughts, needs, and desires BEfore we speak a word. Therefore, let our prayers BE straightforward honest prayers. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Tread in truth and faith this Tuesday, my friend.
