Daily Devotional for January 25, 2021
“Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10 NIV
I truly love Joel Osteen’s perspective on life. There was a time when I wondered how he could BE so happy all the time and so positive, but now I understand. As he expressed through this morning’s message, “When you’ve been through enough dark places, you don’t complain about life’s little inconveniences.” Experience is truly a good teacher. I think to myself many days, I truly experienced many dark places simultaneously and God kept me—dealing with a divorce at the same time I lost my dad and was diagnosed with a medical condition could have taken me out. But God used those things to strengthen me. I don’t BElieve there is much more I could go through that would shake my faith, for I know whose I am and I’m striving to please Him and not (wo)man.
Jeremiah 49
As in Jeremiah 48 and now Jeremiah 49, we see that hard times, death, and destruction are inevitable in this life, yet our Father always promises to REstore what we’ve lost. We just must keep the faith in all that we go T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, Regrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) and know our latter will BE greater and the BEst is yet to come.
REflections from 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting: The Sauce
Today’s message from 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting: The Sauce, speaks about the fruit of the Spirit. As in John 15:5, He is the vine and we are the branches. We bear the fruit to share with others as we travel along life’s JOurneY. I REmind myself daily that my life may be the only bible some may REad. I also ask Him daily to use me as a willing vessel to share the word. As Minister Michelle said yesterday in her sermon at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, I may not have BEen called to preach but I am welcomed to witness. I know I must tell of the goodness of the Lord through my thoughts, words, and actions.
Isaiah 55:6
As the saying goes, don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today—try Christ. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Moment by moment new mercies may we marvel in this Monday, my friend.
