Even when we stray and fail to pray, our Father is always along our way each day
Facing the Mountain of Too Much
Today we begin “The Art of Stopping: How to Be Still When You Have to Keep Going” by David Kundtz. Chapter one is titled “Facing the Mountain of Too Much”. In it the author speaks about a client, Mary Helen, saying, “My bright, normally fun-loving and competent client, was truly puzzled. ‘Why can't I deal with this? I have always been able to cope, even when things have been difficult. Why not now?’ But this was a new and challenging mountain, not just the same old pile of rocks she had walked over many times before. But that was what she needed to see.” Kundtz goes on to say, “So it is with all of us—we keep dealing with the problem of too much in the same old ways. As a result, we are overstressed, overloaded, overtired, and unable to solve the serious problems and challenges that are a direct result of our revved-up pace of life. It's time to learn a different way to face our Mountain of Too Much and to trade in our old ways of coping for new ones.” Let us take time to realize that nothing in this life remains the same. It may look like it and seem like it, but all things are evolving or at least changing, and as a result we must make adjustments to maintain, adjust, or let go.
1 Peter 1:13 reads, “Therefore prepare your minds for action; discipline yourselves; set all your hope on the grace that Jesus Christ will bring you when he is revealed.” It is important to be mindful of what we have to do, yet know what we can and cannot do, and most importantly seek God’s grace to see us through.
Small Straws Scripture: Proverbs 4:11-12
I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, and when you run, you will not stumble.
As long as we follow the lead of our Father nothing will prevent us from what He has prepared for us.
Youversion Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation.
No matter what we are experiencing, and particularly when we may in despair, we don’t have to worry, because God is right there.
Even when we stray and fail to pray, our Father is always along our way each day, my friend.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
